When having a Mexican dinner with their family, or when having friends over for a party, many people make guacamole and serve them with a handful of tortilla chips. While that’s already delicious by itself, let me share with you a great guacamole companion, this Creamy chipotle dip.  This super easy-to-make dip is bursting with flavors; it’s tangy, mildly spicy, and, as the name says, very creamy.

In Mexico, like in many other countries around the world, we love snacks and appetizers. Although this is not a traditional Mexican recipe, dips are popular for casual gatherings or for when you’re watching the soccer game. The creamy and cheesy dips are the most favored, and we love to mix in ingredients that are common to us; in this case, a little chipotle and cilantro work wonders! Of course, people add their own spin to their dip depending on their local ingredients.

 Personally, I have a weakness for these types of dips, that’s why I don’t make them so often, because I can eat the whole thing by myself before the guests arrive! So, grab a bunch of tortilla chips and cut some veggies up to dip in!

Creamy Chipotle Dip recipe Mexican recipes

Makes 4 cups                   Prep Time: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 4 tsp. Knorr® Chicken Flavor Bouillon
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp. chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

NOTES:

You can add more chipotle peppers if you’d like to make it spicy.

This recipe does not call for salt, since it uses Knorr® Bouillon, which is enough for seasoning this dip. I often like using Knorr® because it allows me to add more interesting flavors to dishes that my family loves.

DIRECTIONS

1. Place lime juice in a small microwave-safe bowl, mix with the Knorr® Chicken Flavor Bouillon, and microwave on high for 30 seconds or until hot.
2. Combine the bouillon mixture with the remaining ingredients.
3. Serve with tortilla chips or your favorite dippers.
