Basic Michelada Cocktail Recipe
With the Futbol Cup happening in Brazil right now, the soccer fever here at home has really hit us, watching the games and feeling the emotions every time you hear the sports commentator on TV screaming with excitement if one of the players get close to the goal line. We stop doing whatever we are doing to run to the TV set and get to see how one country defeats the other.
Like last Sunday, we were having dinner at a small Colombian place we love to go for their authentic meals. Nothing bringing us closer than “futbol”, regardless of who is sitting next to you, as long it is someone from the same team as yours.¡
Great moments watching the National Team, Celebrate Closer!
And for moments like those when you are sharing with your friends and having to fun nothing like an ice cold beer but this time a beer cocktail, a famous one in Mexico. Some references mention that “Michelada” was created from the love Mexicans have of adding lime to food and drinks and to rim the edge of their glasses while making cocktails. The recipe varies by region in Mexico. In central Mexico, people use this simple and basic recipe, but in other regions, more spices are added, and it’s also known as a “Chelada”. See NOTES Below for the more elaborated Michelada ingredients.
