Mexican Christmas Recipes
Christmas (Navidad) is one of the most beautiful times of the year, where our traditional Mexican holiday recipes are prepared all over the country.
During this season, tamales are prepared by the hundreds, with fillings like chicken in salsa verde or pork in guajillo sauce. Grandmas will make the sweet and crispy buñuelos, which are well accompanied by champurrados, Mexican Hot Chocolate, or a steamy cup of Mexican Christmas Punch.
Other dishes that we make for Christmas and New Year’s include Pozole, Turkey, Salted Cod a la Vizcaina, and Pork dishes like Roasted Pork Leg and Cochito al Horno (Baked Pork Chiapas Style).
These are just a few of the foods that we enjoy during these holidays, which we collectively call “Las Posadas”.
