For some of us, summer weather is already here. Like for me: living in Dallas means hot and humid days this time of the year. I like enjoying the cooler evenings in the backyard under the shade of the trees with a large pitcher of a good Agua Fresca.

we went to a get together next door, it was catered and they served the
cucumber-lemon-agua-fresca- and it was so smooth and so refreshing, I have not found a recipe with the lemon? I did make a pitcher of the lime one and it was good but not as pleasing. we have bot lemon and lime trees , so that is the most expensive item if you have to buy them, I will strain the next batch and see if it is more like what the caters had for us.

We like the pulp of the cucumbers to remain, so I don’t strain. I add strawberries sometimes and will also use agave for sweetening. Amazing recipe!

Love this. Had my first lime cucumber Fresca in a mall here in Texas. Later had been drinking this flavor in Gatora but now can't find it. So decided to make my own. Made a mess because had to start with a food processor, then transfer the cucumber to my very old blender after straining. But the final product is worth it. Yummy

I use stevia all the time in Aguas. Frescas. You have to use a lot less than real sugar. I grow my own stevia here in Ajijic, Mexico. I dry the leaves and then grind them in a coffee grinder. I do not use the stuff I grow in light colored aguas frescas because it is an olive green powder. It works well for coffee and Iced tea. When I make lemonade or a light colored agua I use the commercial stevia which has been processed to male it white. Love your blog ,Mely.

Instead of straining the sugar, water and lime mixture, why not make a simple syrup and then, strain the lime before adding it to the cooled simple syrup. It should make for a smoother drink.

Made this one and immediately enjoyed it. This one will be made all summer long, or for as long as I have cucumbers in my garden.

The cucumber lime agus fresca was excellent! I used a very scant amount of sugar; the flavors really don't need much sugar at all. Very refreshing!

I enjoyed watermelon frescos while in Puerto Rico and I was an instant huge fan. The cucumber-lime one sounds divine! These drinks are just the right amount of sweet and 100% refreshing. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Try to stay cool this summer.

      Hi Mely!
I love aguas frescas, but have avoided them since being diagnosed with diabetes. Have you made aguas using Stevia? Just curious as to whether this would be a good substitute.

        Hello Esther,
Sorry to hear you were diagnosticated with diabetes. I had never try Stevia with aguas frescas.
