Mexican Drinks
Mexicans love the refreshing taste of “Aguas Frescas”, which are cold drinks made using water and fruits as a base. They can be made out of watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, lime, orange, and many other fruits. There are also some Aguas Frescas that are made out of grains and flowers, like Horchata (made with rice) and Hibiscus, respectively.
When it comes to Mexican hot drinks, you cannot overlook Atole, which uses corn masa to thicken its consistency. Besides the regular corn flavor, you can find atoles flavored with ingredients like milk, tamarind, and even blackberry. Other Mexican hot drinks include Café de Olla (country-style pot coffee), Mexican Hot Chocolate, Champurrado (a blend of atole and hot chocolate), and Ponche Navideño (Christmas Punch).
And last but not least, we have the Mexican alcoholic beverages, including the Michelada, Torito, Sangria, and cocktails like the Paloma and the famous Margarita.
