Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Frozen Mango chunks about 1¾ cup
  • 3 ounces Tequila Cazadores Blanco
  • ounces Triple Sec
  • 4 ounces White Sugar or Agave Syrup
  • ounces Lime Juice
  • 2 cups of ice cubes
  • ½ tsp. Chili piquín or cayenne pepper powder to mix with the salt (optional)

Instructions

  • Place the Mango chunks, Tequila Cazadores, triple sec, natural syrup, and lime juice in your blender. Blend in the highest setting until you have a very smooth mixture.
  • Add the ice cubes to the blender, making sure that they go all the way down to the bottom where the blades are, and continue blending until very smooth. Serve in the prepared glasses of your choice.
  • To prepare the glasses, dab the rims with a lime wedge and then dip them into a small plate of salt (mixed with the Piquín or cayenne pepper powder, if using). Enjoy your Frozen Pineapple Margarita!

Notes

  • You can also sprinkle some of the salt/chili pepper mix directly on top of the Mango Margarita.
  • Some people love to coat the rim with the popular citrusy and spicy mix called Tajín. You can find this mix sold at your local Latin stores. If you are familiar with chamoy sauce, it will be a good topping too.
  • The most common salt to use to rim the glass for a margarita is Kosher salt but you can use another kind of salt.
  • The Mango you find sold frozen in the United States is the Tommy Atkins variety, but if you can find the Ataulfo, also called “Campagne” your drink will be even tastier and sweeter. Ataulfo Mango is in season from February to November.
