Chipotle Tuna Sandwich is a delightful meal with a spicy twist on a classic, blending the rich, hearty flavor of tuna with Chipotle's smoky, spicy kick.
After you open the can of tuna, drain the meat using a strainer. Next, transfer tuna to a medium size mixing bowl and break pieces apart with a fork.
Add the mayo, minced chipotle pepper, and adobo sauce and mix. Stir in the chopped onions and combine with the tuna mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
Spread tuna mixture on two slices of bread. Top with the other slices.
Next, heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
Place the sandwiches on the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 4 –5 minutes per side. Serve with potato chips or cucumber slices.
You can serve more Chipotles on the side if you want to add more to your sandwich.
Notes
If you are looking for a quick appetizer dip, place the same ingredients plus ½ cup of cream cheese in your food processor, and serve with crackers.
A few additional ingredients to your chipotle tuna salad for this sandwich are celery, tomatoes, slice avocados and red onions, depending on your taste.
You can also add a chopped garlic clove or your favorite fresh herbs, like a teaspoon of chop parsley or cilantro.
