Quick baked sweet potatoes

This recipe for baked Quick Baked sweet potatoes with honey is a much quicker way to prepare sweet potatoes than the traditional baking method. Instead of having to bake them for more than an hour, with this technique, your sweet potatoes will be done in half the time!

  • 4 Medium size sweet potatoes
  • 1 Tablespoon of butter per sweet potato
  • 2 Teaspoons of honey per sweet potato


  • Place the sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Turn the heat to medium-high. Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat and place the lid on the pot. Let simmer for 20 minutes; the sweet potatoes will be softened at the end of this time.
  • Remove the sweet potatoes from the pot and place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350º F for 10 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick: if it goes all the way through effortlessly, the sweet potatoes are ready.
  • Place the potatoes on a serving dish or on individual plates. Cut a slit lengthwise in each sweet potato. Add the butter and drizzle with honey. Enjoy!
